15 Year Old Student Scores 1580 Out of 1600 In SAT Exams
David Akiogbe, a 15-year-old SS3 student, has achieved an impressive 1580 out of 1600 on the SAT, scoring a perfect 800 in Math and 780 in Reading and Writing. Driven solely by his own dedication, David prepared without the help of tutors, coaching classes, or extra lessons. With determination and his faith, he undertook all his studies independently. His father, Stephen Abiodun Akiogbe, confirmed that David managed the entire process himself, from research to applications, with parental involvement only for payment and application submission.
This achievement has attracted attention as David now seeks scholarships at prestigious U.S. institutions, including MIT, which has already confirmed his SAT scores.
David Akiogbe is the son of Christian drama minister and worship leader Damola Akiogbe and he attends The Covenant Nation in Abule Egba, Lagos.
However, David’s success brings to light a growing debate in Nigeria. The Ministry of Education has established an age limit for university admissions, sparking questions about whether such rules hinder talented, young achievers like David from maximizing their potential. Should exceptional performance in international exams override age restrictions for higher education opportunities?
