21 Church Members Battle For Life After Being Hit By A Jeep In Aba

Abia State witnessed a tragic incident after a fast-moving Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle collided with a road parade orchestrated by United Evangelical Church, Abayi International, in Aba. This incident led twenty-one church members to be admitted to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba.

The disastrous incident happened on Thursday evening along Aba-Owerri road around 6 pm, while the women and members of the church’s Boys Brigade band were immersed in a sensitization road walk for the International Women’s Day Celebration.

Reports revealed that many of the victims, including a pregnant woman, sustained severe injuries such as broken limbs, head injuries, and internal trauma.

Confirming the incident is the church’s pastor, Nnamdi Kelvin while the driver of the Jeep, who caused the incident claiming brake failure, has been arrested and handed over to the World Bank Police station in Abayi.
